In many library databases you can limit your search to 'Peer-reviewed journals only.'  This is one easy way to make sure you're only looking at the peer-reviewed, scholarly journals. 

Another easy method to go to the journal publisher's website (this can be done by Googling the journal).  In the description of the journal, it will say whether or not it is peer-reviewed.
